Question: Proposition: Life is a mere illusion and just like the world is a stage as we use it as a stepping stone for a showcase of our talents. Provide at least two (2) premises or counter arguments for the proposition. Write in a complete paragraph(s).

“Life is mere illusion and just like the world is a stage as we use it as a stepping stone for a showcase of our talents”. This proposition is telling us that the world we live in is only temporary and it would not last long. We are to believe that we must be the best among the best and because of that we struggle to achieve what is needed to make sure we achieve our target. Our life and the world we live in are temporary. It is borrowed to us by our creator. It is not something that we can simply get or purchased. We cannot even borrow it from someone else if we are to know that our life is going to an end. This life that have been borrowed to us does not even have an expired date, one day it will end and we will bring along with us our practices only. So as the world, once our life comes to an end, this world will be the end for us yet still a stage for the living. That is what I believed; our life is an illusion because we live our whole life with dreams. We are to grow up with dreams. Moreover, the world is our stage because with these dreams we have; we use the world as a stage for us to make our dreams a reality.

         Our life is an illusion because we live our whole life with dreams. Everyone grows up in different environment and being taught in a different way. Through that everyone grew up with dreams of their own. Being able to achieve their dreams is like their wishes id being granted. According to Sivananda (2001), “Dreams are partial gratification of the wishes”. Dreams related with wishes and wishes only exist in fairy tales thus dreams are only an illusion. It is not wrong to have a dream because that dream is what kept us moving forward. Wanting to believe there is something out there for us is a booster for our enthusiasms to achieved and be somebody in this temporary life.  Next is the world is our stage because it is our platform to make our dreams into a reality. In other word, this world we live in is our stepping stone to be someone. Life offers us a lot of things, it is just up to us whether to grab the opportunity or let it go for something else. It’s the same like we as a student, our school is our stage for us to become someone. We are told to study hard just to get good results in exam, saying that these results are our only ticket to have a good life. What they were not telling us is how much hardship we need to face in real life in order to have a good life. Still, we need to face this life and enjoy it because it would not last forever.
